Ford Motor Co. has voluntarily knocked three miles off of the 2013 C-Max hybrid’s mile per gallon rating to drop it to a depressing 43 mpg combined. The American carmaker has also said that it will make goodwill payments to those who have already bought the misrepresented vehicle.
This is not the first time that Ford has attempted to satisfy owners of the 2013 C-Max hybrid who have said that their cars did not achieve their stated 47 mpg combined ratings. Just last month, the company that Henry built offered owners software updates that were said to be able to improve fuel efficiency.
Buyers of the vehicle will receive $550 from Ford as a form of goodwill payments, while leasers of the car will get $325.
