Chrysler Group has announced that it is recalling more than 270 Fiat 500e battery-electric cars from the model year 2013 to fix some bolts within the vehicles that may be faulty.
Chrysler says that the bolts secure the cars’ half shafts, the part that bring the motor’s torque from the gearbox to the wheels and to the road, to the chassis. The problem was discovered when it was learned that a single owner’s car was experiencing loss of power on the road. As of the time of this writing, Chrysler says that it has not heard of any accidents, injuries, or deaths being caused by this bolt issue.
Chrysler will replace the bolts free of charge.
