Lexus is cancelling production and sales of the Lexus HS 250h due to the vehicle’s less-than stellar sales. The removal of the car that is not related to any other Toyota or Lexus vehicle made for the U.S. will clear the way for the release of the ES 300h hybrid that is due to hit showroom floors late this summer.
The good news for you and me is that those HS 250h’s that have not found owners by the end of summer will undoubtedly be priced and incentivized to sell at that time. Unfortunately, with so few of these ever sold, we’ll probably never see them uber-cheap on buy here pay here car lots in GA.
Odds are that the ES 300h hybrid will be a hotter item than was the HS 250h. After all, the hybrid will have the same platform as does the ES and the Toyota Camry. This means, according to those in the know, that it will be one of the lower-priced hybrids in its market.
